A Texas man decided grow his own to beat high prices. But it wasn't lettuce or tomatoes in his garden. Deputies charge John Daniel Miller III was growing pot. Tyler County deputies say a tip led them to Miller's rural property, where they seized more than 70 pot plants. Authorities put the value of the illegal weed at about $100,000. Sheriff's Sergeant

Jessica Simpson is now selling beer. The singer and actress has signed on as spokeswoman for Stampede Light Plus, made by Dallas' Stampede Brewing Co. Simpson will appear in ads in stores for the beer and is taking a 15 percent stake in the brewer.
