A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metra (BNSF line) near the West Hinsdale station, officials said. About 2:20 p.m., the No. 1268 train was passing Stough Street in west suburban Hinsdale when it struck a pedestrian near the West Hinsdale station, said Michael Gillis, a Metra spokesman.
Metra has implemented its emergency overcrowding plan. Metra recommends BNSF commuters remain downtown until service is restored or seek alternate transportation.
