Twenty-one-year-old mother-to-be Galicia Malone from south Chicago suburb Dolton went into labor early Tuesday morning but that didn't stop her from getting to the polls.
Around 8:30 a.m. she stopped off at her precinct's polling location New Life Celebration Church -- when her contractions were already five minutes apart.
“I never voted before so this made a major difference in my life,” she told CBS Chicago. “And I wanted this to be a stepping-stone for my daughter.”
She then got in her car and drove herself to the hospital to give birth to her daughter. This was Malone's first time voting in a presidential election and it's likely she'll never forget it.
