Beyonce shut up all those critics who were upset that she lip-synced the national anthem during President Obama’s inauguration.  During the press conference for her Super Bowl half-time show Beyonce proved she can sing the song by belting it out live in front of reporters, without any help from a backing track. When she finished she simply said, “any questions?” She then explained why she decided to use a backing track during the inauguration. "I am a perfectionist ... I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra [at the Inauguration]. It was a live television show and a very important moment for me,” she said. “Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk … so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my performance."

Beyonce on Thursday released a highly produced video featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the singer and several dancers rehearsing for her big Super Bowl halftime performance this Sunday in New Orleans. Appropriately, the footage is set to her singing her 2011 single “Countdown.”
