It’s splitsville once again for Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana. The New York Post reports the couple, who met on the set of the film The Words, broke up just before the holidays, which they originally planned to spend together. The pair dated for three months before calling it quits in March, only to reconcile in September. It appears work may have gotten in the way, with insiders saying the romance fizzled because Cooper was too busy promoting his flick Silver Linings Playbook, which is getting Oscar buzz. Saldana was supposed to travel to Europe with Cooper and his family for the holidays, but instead partied on New Year’s Eve in Miami. Said a witness, “If Zoe was upset over the split with Bradley she didn’t show it.”

Producer/director J.J. Abrams recently made a dying Star Trek fan’s dream come true. A few weeks ago, a Reddit user known as “ideeeyut” posted a plea on behalf of his friend Dan, who was battling two types of cancer and had only “weeks to live.” According to the user, Dan’s one wish was to see the new Star Trek movie, Star Trek Into Darkness, before he died. He even bought a ticket to see The Hobbit, because there was going to be a ten minute trailer for Star Trek, but Dan was hospitalized on the day of the screening and couldn’t go. “My friend is dying,” wrote ideeeyut. “Would like to see the new Star Trek movie. Please help.” Well, the plea worked and somehow the request got to Paramount Pictures and then on to Abrams, who called Dan’s wife and arranged for him to see a special screening of the not-quite finished flick. According to the friend, Dan “loved it.”

George Lucas is getting hitched. The 68-year-old Star Wars creator, who recently sold Lucasfilm to Disney for $4.05 billion, has gotten engaged to his girlfriend of seven years, Mellody Hobson, chairman of DreamWorks animation and head of a Chicago-based based investment management firm. This will be the first marriage for the 43-year-old Hobson; the second for Lucas, who was previously married to Marcia Lucas from 1969-1983. There’s no word on when the couple will wed.
Producers of ABC’s The Bachelor have gone to court to get a blogger known as Reality Steve Carbone to stop leaking information about the show. Producers first sued Carbone in December, 2011, claiming that in order to get spoilers he tried to get contestants to breach their confidentiality agreements. The two sides reached a settlement in June, although Carbone said he’d continue to post spoilers but would abide by the terms of the settlement. Well, producers have gone back to court saying Carbone breached the deal, prompted by a post last month in which he revealed details about the first five episodes of the upcoming season featuring Sean Lowe, including full names of the women eliminated from the competition. The producers are asking for a permanent injunction against Carbone, as well as monetary damages. Carbone calls the new suit “bogus” and insists the original settlement “does not prevent me from publishing spoilers.” The new season of The Bachelorpremieres January 7th.
