I was just going to post some cool auction photos, then blog about how sad it is to lose a little slice of the Chicago history pie (food pun intended : ) since Charlie Trotter's restaurant closed after 25 years. (Charlie reportedly wants to go to grad school.) But then I started reading about how testy Charlie got during the auction ("Charlie Goes Diva") and yes, then cancelled his own auction DURING the auction. TV movie-of-the-week... Anyone? ; )

It gets worse. After cancelling the auction, Charlie then changed his mind and refused to sell some of the items people had successfully bid on.

Believe it or not, the auction house is working on putting together another auction for Charlie very soon, to sell off the rest of the lots - but this time it'll be ONLINE instead of in-person. (I'm sure they're thrilled - It'll be harder for Charlie to scream at them via computer ; )
